The spectre of Airwolf loomed over Saturday’s edition of talent contest The X Factor, when it was revealed that Louis Walsh’s real name is Michael Vincent. If anything, this makes him sounds more dangerous than his assumed name, an identity which seems designed to make his Irish origins clear before he even walks through the door.
Some viewers were reportedly excited that Walsh was in fact ex-Airwolf actor Jan-Michael Vincent, forging a hitherto undetected second career in the music industry – although others contended that the Irish impresario more closely resembles Ernest Borgnine, who played Dominic Santini, co-pilot to Stringfellow Hawke (Vincent) in the popular 1980s action series.
