Odds have shortened again on John Edwards becoming the Democratic nominee. Is News Hour on to something? Probably not, but the ‘ex’ candidate has a poverty conference speech coming up in Iowa, an engagement that falls five days after his speech on health care in Kansas, on June 14. Is he manoeuvring for a killer blow? A one-shot strike that’ll shoot him clear to Pennsylvania Avenue?
On that hot Kansas night, Edwards heads a playbill* that boasts ‘country legend Lee Greenwood‘ and ‘world #1 Elvis impersonator Kavan Live‘, so perhaps not. It sounds like a better version of the bill his psychic near-namesake would be on, were he British. Perhaps John Edward is the man behind John Edwards?
Whatever the case may be, a correspondent from News Hour has signed up to the Edwards campaign list, and eagerly awaits his marching orders.
*In all fairness, it does sound like a fun night. Sadly we have no bureaux in Kansas.
